PORT Elizabeth’s dynamic branch of the Businesswomen’s Association (BWA) has urged the clients, colleagues, friends and families of the region’s leading and most deserving working women to nominate them for the prestigious BWA/Investec 2016 Regional Business Achiever Awards (RBAA) before entries close at the end of February.

The prestigious annual Awards acknowledge the economic and social contribution of female entrepreneurs and professionals in the greater Nelson Mandela Bay (NMB) region. The Awards are made in six categories: Emerging Entrepreneur, Entrepreneur, Social Entrepreneur, Corporate, Professional and Government. Entrants need not be members of the BWA and entries are welcome from as far afield as the Garden Route, Graaff-Reinet and Grahamstown.

“The calibre of our phenomenal finalists is always exciting and inspiring as women increasingly employ their determination and creativity to meet the ever-changing challenges of today’s working world,” said BWA PE chairwoman, Michelle Brown.

“Their stories motivate and inspire all working women”

“The RBAA applauds the efforts and ethics of our female business leaders, who usually wear a number of hats in addition to their working responsibilities. Their stories – often of success against all odds - reveal powerful lessons that motivate us all to reach higher and fulfil our ambitions.”

A wholly independent panel of judges, which is made up of a broad cross-section of NMB leaders in business, government and civil society, will select the winners from three finalists in each of the six categories. Brown said the engaging RBAA participation process not only recognised but also enriched the careers of finalists and winners, many of whom gained the confidence to achieve even greater success.

Nominations for the awards close on Monday 29 February. The criteria for each category, further information as well as easy-to-complete nomination forms can be obtained online at www.bwasa.co.za/home, from Samantha Bowers at the BWA PE office: email pe@bwasa.co.za, or go to the BWAPE Facebook page for further details. Winners will be announced at a glamorous gala dinner at the Boardwalk Convention Centre on Tuesday 14 June 2016.
