Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) is delighted to once again host the much anticipated People’s Port Festival on 1 — 2 December 2018.
Following the success of the inaugural People’s Port Festival held on 25, 26 March 2017, which attracted approximately 90 000 people, TNPA is looking forward to once again hosting a festival that will provide fun and informative experiences in a unique and
The 2018 People’s Port Festival will have substantial social, economic, enterprise development and tourism-boosting benefits for the wider region, extending across
multiple sectors and socio economic thresholds.
It will further showcase a blend of port operations, career opportunities, maritime economy, local tourism and recreational activities available in the city. Other activities will include (but not limited to) a variety of markets, live entertainment, water/land based sports activities, children’s entertainment, amusement park, exhibitions, tug boat rides,
bus tours, fishing competition, boarding Navy vessels and car shows.
To encourage full participation and host a truly inclusive event, admission is free and
entertainment will cover all cultures and demographics.
This event attracted 90 000 people in 2017 and will without doubt once again attract a
large number of people.
To this end we appeal to all Port tenants and Port Users to kindly deep clean your
respective leased premises ahead of the 2018 People’s Port Festival by addressing
amongst others the following housekeeping items:
Remove ail rubble/waste in and around your leased premises
Remove all derelict vehicles/vessels that may belong to your staff/associates
Cutting of grass or clean pavements in and around your leased premises
and Removing unsightly items in front of your premises.
