General Motors empowers female employees


Over the past year several women in the organisation have participated in technical training for non-technical people, off-road driver training, safe driver training, work-life balance seminars, psychological and financial well-being programmes and simulated manufacturing courses.

Ford expands to Nigeria


Ford will start assembling Ranger pickup trucks (bakkies) in Nigeria later this year. Nigeria will become the first African country outside South Africa to assemble Ford vehicles. Ford engines are manufactured in Nelson Mandela Bay at Ford's Struandale Engine Plant.

NAAMSA comment on the July, 2015 South African new vehicle sales statistics


COMMENTING on the New Vehicle Sales Statistics for July, the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (NAAMSA), said the slow-down in domestic new vehicle sales had continued during the month. New car sales registered the largest year-to-date monthly decline. In contrast, export sales of new motor vehicles had continued to record strong year-on-year gains.
