


To mark Women’s Month, the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber will be hosting a Women in Business panel discussion on Thursday, the 26th of August 2021, which will be headlined by some of the Metro’s leading business leaders.
The discussion will be facilitated by Business Chamber CEO Denise van Huyssteen with a key focus on gaining insight on the panelist’s experiences and also how they have successfully navigated challenges along the way in their respective careers.
All the participants occupy senior leadership positions at major businesses in our city and as such, operate in strategic and key decision-making roles.
The panel line-up includes:
- Nonkqubela Maliza, the Director of Corporate and Government Affairs for the Volkswagen Group South Africa, who has held this position for around 15 years. She also chairs the VW Community Trust as well as the VWSA BEE Initiatives Trust. Prior to this, she was a senior executive at Metallon Corporation, a mining and financial services company, and a Chief Director at the Department of Trade and Industry. She has an MBA from the University of Cape Town, a BA Honours in Economics from Rhodes University and a BA in Psychology and Economics from Rhodes University.
- Rochelle de Kock, who has been the Editor of The Herald and Weekend Post for almost two years, started her journalism career in 2008 as an intern for The Herald and worked her way up the ranks into her current role.
She is editing two of the most prestigious publications in the Eastern Cape and as such, plays a pivotal role in shaping key discussions around some of the strategic developments within the Eastern Cape Province.
- Lee-Ann De Witt, is the Executive Head, Business Client Coverage for Standard Bank in the Eastern Cape and has worked at the bank for almost three decades. She was recently nominated to the Chamber Board and also serves on its Finance Committee. She has a Bachelor of Commerce in Business Management and Accounting from Nelson Mandela University.
