

The Entrepreneurship desk sponsored by Standard Bank and Borbet, acts as a single contact where small business growth and sustainability interventions are housed. These include pro bono one on one advisory support; access to market; entrepreneurial skills development; access to finance; Business to Business linkages among others. The Desk further drives awareness of existing developmental opportunities in the entrepreneurial ecosystem and connects small businesses with key strategic stakeholders.
The support of the desk is structured as follows:
The Accelerator programme, through strategic partnerships with expert service providers offer pro bono support through structured workshops and personalised one-on-one advisory sessions. These interventions are designed to equip entrepreneurs with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate and thrive in competitive business environments
This programme forms part of a national initiative developed by the iLembe Chamber and supported by ACSA , with academic guidance from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). It is implemented locally by the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber to equip a select group of entrepreneurs with the tools, knowledge, and networks to grow sustainable, impactful businesses.
The Business Ignition Challenge powered by the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber and Standard Bank recognises and supports Youth-owned businesses, Township based Entrepreneurs and MSMEs registered with the Entrepreneurship Desk towards growth and sustainability.
The successful entrepreneurs will potentially win a grant fund to support their business needs.
