The Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber is preparing to close off another industrious year in style with its much-anticipated 2025 Annual Banquet, set to take place on Friday, 05 December 2025, at the Boardwalk Conference Centre. The Annual Banquet has become a signature event on the Chamber’s calendar, offering members and partners an opportunity to unwind, celebrate achievements and reconnect beyond the boardroom after a year of hard work and dedication to advancing the Bay’s economic growth.

This year’s theme, “Roots of Resilience - Blossoming Together”, celebrates the power of collaboration and the collective spirit that continues to steer the metro towards becoming the Bay of Opportunity - an inclusive, thriving and sustainable manufacturing hub on the African continent. It reflects the growth that emerges from perseverance and the beauty that arises when businesses unite to overcome challenges and nurture progress together.

According to Denise van Huyssteen, Chief Executive Officer of the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber, the event is more than an evening of dining and entertainment - it is a symbolic close to a year marked by resilience, teamwork and renewal. “The theme reflects not only the endurance our business community has shown but also the beauty of what can emerge when we nurture partnerships and work together,” she says. “Our Annual Banquet is a reminder that while the year may have tested us, it has also strengthened our roots and inspired fresh growth. It’s a moment to pause, to celebrate and to acknowledge what can be achieved by adopting a collective approach to addressing challenges and unlocking opportunities.”

Van Huyssteen adds that the Banquet embodies the Chamber’s appreciation for its members and stakeholders, whose shared purpose and collaboration continue to fuel the metro’s resurgence. “It is a time to honour the spirit of unity and optimism that keeps our business community moving forward. The evening represents both reflection and renewal, a chance to celebrate how far we have come, and to look ahead to another year of collective success.”

Bringing energy and rhythm to the evening will be South Africa’s legendary Dr Victor and the Rasta Rebels. Renowned for their vibrant blend of reggae, pop and rhythm and blues, the band has entertained audiences for decades with timeless hits such as “If You Wanna Be Happy”, “Give Me Hope Jo’Anna”, and “Tuffen Up”. Their upbeat sound and feel-good message of joy, unity and togetherness make them the perfect choice to headline the Chamber’s year-end celebration, setting the tone for a night filled with laughter, dancing and unforgettable memories.

As the year draws to a close, the Chamber invites its members and partners to join in a celebration of resilience, renewal and connection.
