The Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber has announced the appointment of a new cohort of Board Members at its Annual General Meeting held on 27 May 2026, marking a significant step in strengthening its strategic leadership at a time when focused, decisive action is needed to unlock the metro’s economic potential.
This carefully selected group of leaders brings together a mix of expertise across key sectors including pharmaceuticals, retail, banking, manufacturing, logistics, legal advisory, industrial solutions and climate finance. Their collective experience is expected to sharpen the Chamber’s ability to advocate effectively for business, drive sustainable growth and respond to the complex challenges facing Nelson Mandela Bay. Importantly, the recalibrated Board also reflects meaningful progress in inclusive leadership, with strong female representation of 11 women to 13 men, ensuring a diversity of perspectives that will enrich decision-making and strengthen governance.
The newly appointed Board Members include Branson Bosman, Executive General Manager: SA Operations at Aspen; Solly Engelbrecht, Managing Director of SPAR Eastern Cape; Hazel Khumalo, Managing Director: Corporate and Investment Banking at Absa; Daliwonga Mangana, Chairman of Ulimo Industrial Group; Tracey Mouton, Managing Director of Goldberg & de Villiers Inc; Arthur Mtombeni, Managing Director of Shatterprufe; Lance Petersen, Regional Head of Santova Logistics Eastern Cape; and Dr Chantal Naidoo, Founder and Director of Rabia Transitions. Collectively, they represent a formidable pool of leadership, technical expertise and strategic insight, with proven track records in driving innovation, operational excellence and organisational growth across their respective industries.
Commenting on the appointments, Chamber President Kelvin Naidoo said the strengthened Board comes at a pivotal moment for the region’s economy.
“As the Chamber sharpens its focus on driving economic growth, strengthening investor confidence and advocating for a more enabling business environment, the calibre of leadership within our governance structures is absolutely critical. We are exceptionally proud to welcome a group of leaders whose experience is not only extensive, but deeply aligned to the structural needs and opportunities within Nelson Mandela Bay,” Naidoo said.
“This Board reflects the breadth of capability required to move the needle, from advanced manufacturing and logistics to financial services, legal expertise and climate finance, ensuring that we are well positioned to respond with agility and purpose. The strong female representation within this cohort is equally significant, signalling our commitment to inclusive leadership and the value of diverse perspectives in shaping a more resilient and forward-looking organisation,” he said.
“We have full confidence in the capabilities of our new Board Members and look forward to leveraging their expertise, networks and leadership to take the Chamber even further. Their contribution will be instrumental as we continue to champion business interests, unlock growth opportunities and drive sustainable development across the metro.”
With these appointments, the Chamber reinforces its commitment to building a robust, future-focused institution capable of leading from the front, fostering collaboration and driving action to resurge and unlock the potential of the Bay of Opportunity.
