Following extensive deliberations by the judges from Standard Bank and Labournet, the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber has handed out an Entrepreneur of the Year award to Aluzar Systems Consultants (ASC) for growing their operations exponentially in the past year.
A total of 108 registered members of the SMME and Entrepreneurship Desk were eligible for this award.
ASC is headquartered in Nelson Mandela Bay and is a specialist food safety and public health consultancy firm, which provides guidance and generate practical solutions regarding food safety, labelling, quality assurance, regulatory compliance and food litigation defence.
With many years of hands-on experience in the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries, the company identified a significant need amongst small and medium-sized businesses for cost-effective, convenient and professional consulting services.

The company has experience consulting for national and international companies in food safety and public health. Over the past year, they expanded their service to incorporate Public Health Solutions. Parallel to this, they conducted, at their own cost, two significant studies on Manganese pollution and water quality, and served as a contributing author for a chapter in the Encyclopaedia of Food Safety.
Furthermore, they secured two key clients in the Citrus and Chicory sectors, and expanded their footprint to Nigeria, Kenya and Brazil. The company has also opened satellite offices in Durban and Johannesburg, and grew their revenue by 30%, compared to the previous year.
