Yesterday, the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber held its Board Meeting where new officer bearers were elected into key roles, thus ensuring continuity of its strategic initiatives and interventions which are geared at saving investment and employment in the metro.
Vice President
Siyolo Dick, Managing Director of SPAR Eastern Cape and also the Chair of the Chamber’s Perseverance Cluster, was appointed as Vice President taking over from Siya Mhlaluka whose term has come to an end. Mhlaluka will continue to be a member of the Chamber Board.
Vice President
Kelvin Naidoo, the Manufacturing and Technical Director at AutoX, has been appointed as the second Vice President, filling the vacancy which arose after Robert Cisek left to take on a new assignment in Germany.
Other appointments onto the Executive Committee of the Board:

Martina Biene, the Chairperson and Managing Director at Volkswagen Group South Africa, has assumed the role of Trade and Investment Lead.

Christiaan Theron, SA Operations Executive at Aspen Pharmaceuticals, has been appointed as the Overall Task Team Lead.

Paola Horak, Director of Grindestone Property Management, has taken on the role of Human Resources Committee Chair, while continuing to serve as the Chamber’s Geographical Cluster Lead.
Chamber President Loyiso Dotwana expressed appreciation to the Board Members for taking on these critical roles. “Business is currently facing the most serious challenges in our most recent history, and this requires that as a business community we mobilise our expertise and resources to find innovative solutions. I am greatly looking forward to working with our new leadership team and have no doubt that they will add value to strengthening the deployment of our existing strategies.”
